Welcome to the art of curiosity; my personal amble through the worlds of art, crafts, books & all manner of other curiosities. You'll find examples of my jewellery & art work plus an account of how I'm attempting to confound depression & my bipolarity by pursuing my creativity. There's a lot of whimsy too; my mind set is distinctly frivolous at times!

So, Dear Reader, won't you join me on my journey?

Sketchbook scenes: some days just aren't meant to be...

Lost interest...

Eye went wrong...

So then I copied - after Van Gogh.

If days are going wrong, I know I can always turn to Vincent! The original is on page 30 of 'Van Gogh: The Master Draughtsman' by Sjraar van Heugten or can be viewed here.

Cute! I have to say I love the half-finished works just as much as the complete one! There is some mystery to it...looks as though you stopped because it was just so.

Thank you Suzanne! Seeing them out of context from the leaves of my sketchbook, I must admit that I agree with you. In fact I now don't like the copy at all!

I sometimes think I'm awkward to the nth degree!

The fade out on the first little guy looks very much intentional, as if the inclusion of the rest of him would have diminished the focus on the personality and character in his face.

I laughed at the "lost interest" comment. I suffer from the same affliction and have an often used blogging tag of "body parts." LOL!

Love it Speck :-) I'll remember that, 'body parts'!!

Posting these sketches has proved to be a most positive experience in that you guys have made me look at these little sketches with a fresh perspective. From being simply'errors', I now see that they do have something to offer that probably doesn't exist in the things that I've 'polished'.

Thank you so much!
