Welcome to the art of curiosity; my personal amble through the worlds of art, crafts, books & all manner of other curiosities. You'll find examples of my jewellery & art work plus an account of how I'm attempting to confound depression & my bipolarity by pursuing my creativity. There's a lot of whimsy too; my mind set is distinctly frivolous at times!

So, Dear Reader, won't you join me on my journey?

When I saw this post the first time, i thought I'd never heard of Louise Bourgeois, then I just happened across this article on the bbc news website and realised that i have seen her towers in the tate modern. How bizarre that people can affect your life and you don't even notice. The theme of the tate modern keeps popping up everywhere for me, there is a theme, someone must be trying to tell me something.

Hi Helen,

What a lovely comment!

If you look at Louise's art, you can see the immense influence she had on contemporary art. I would say that many of the YBAs, for example, were inspired by her vision. No wonder she was the artist they called upon to make the first installations in the Turbine Hall at Tate Modern.

Thanks for the link :-)
